It is the policy of the City of El Dorado that all public records that are made, maintained or kept by or are in the possession of the city, its officers and employees, shall be open for public inspection as provided by, and subject to the restrictions imposed by, the Kansas Open Records Act (PDF).
Any person, upon written request, shall have access to such open public records for the purpose of inspecting, abstracting or copying such records while they are in the possession, custody and control of the city clerk or her designated representative. Standard copies are available for $0.25 each; substandard reproductions are available for the actual cost of reproducing. To request an open record, please use our records request form.

In lieu of full publication of an ordinance pursuant to KSA12-3007, a city may opt to publish a summary of the ordinance in the local paper, as long as the full ordinance is available in the City Clerk's office and on the website. Those ordinances will be found here until they are incorporated into the municipal code.
