Visit the Coutts Museum of Art from August 8 to October 21 to see juried works from the Kansas Academy of Oil Painters (KAOP) in our first floor gallery. This exhibit will feature artwork from some of Kansas’s top oil-painting artists, including Rita Zaudke, Dennis McKay, and many more. Content and style of the paintings will be as diverse as the artists.
Based in Wichita, KS, KAOP was created in 1985 in order to stimulate interest in oil painting for both artists and viewers/collectors. KAOP encourages members to achieve excellence in painting through Member interaction, sharing of information, and painting demonstrations. Those whose artwork has been judged by the KAOP Board of Directors, or has been accepted by three National Small Oil Painting Competitions, may become members.
