In March, we are kicking off our mystery book group by reading The Beekeeper's Apprentice, or On the Segregation of the Queen by Laurie R King.
In 1915, Sherlock Holmes is retired and quietly engaged in the study of honeybees when a young woman literally stumbles into him on the Sussex Downs. Fifteen years old, gawky, egotistical, and recently orphaned, the young Mary Russell displays an intellect to impress even Sherlock Holmes - and match him wit for wit. Under his reluctant tutelage, this very modern 20th-century woman proves a deft protégée and a fitting partner for the Victorian detective.
In their first case together, they must track down a kidnapped American senator's daughter and confront a truly cunning adversary: a bomber who has set trip wires for the sleuths and who will stop at nothing to end their partnership.
Named "One of the Century's Best 100 Mysteries" by the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association.

March 23, 2019, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ BrewCo. Coffeehouse & Dilly Deli
Community is defined by a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. Pastor Wade at TCG Services approached me about the idea of throwing a Block Party for BrewCo. I quickly responded by being grateful and said, “Let me get situated first.” He said “No, it’s to help you move. We want the community to UNITE and help you make your move across the street!” “What?? What a great idea!!” The support I’ve been offered throughout this whole move has been overwhelming. The Unity you all show for our Downtown is honestly just a beautiful thing to be a part of. My heart is full and so thankful for all of you. For those of you that have been asking how you can help, this is it!
