The 5th Annual PIE Sporting Clay Shoot will be held September 23 at Lynbrooke Sporting Clays. Shooting times will be approximately 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Five man teams will be pre-squaded. Cost is $50 per shooter. There will be additional shooting games. Trophies include a High Over All trophy, a hand-crafted display knife by Terry Smith of Buffalo Road Originals, a Ladies Trophy and a Junior/Youth Trophy. The winning team will receive $250. Lunch will be included in the price and will be provided by the Red Devil Chefs.
A drawing for a new CZ Over/Under shotgun will be held at the end of the shoot. $10 tickets are available at the PIE office, 322-4800 and at the shoot. You do not need to be present to win. Lots of other prizes will be given away at the end of the shoot.
Proceeds from the shoot go to the PIE Grants to Schools Program and benefits students and teachers of USD 490.

The Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital will be holding its first Rods for Rides Car Show in the Hospital parking lot. The Car Show will be from 2 to 6 p.m., with registration from noon to 2 p.m., judging from 2 to 5 p.m. and awards at 5 p.m. Awards will be given for: Top 10, Sponsor's Choice, Hard Luck, Longest Distance Traveled and Medical/Healthcare. Pre-registration is $20 and must be completed by Sept. 14; registration the day of the show is $25.
The car show will raise money for the SBAMH Foundation and transportation needs for patients and volunteers.
