Everyone loves a book club! Our next meeting is going to be Saturday, May 25 from 2-4. The title is Educated by Tara Westover. Want to join us? Please RSVP so we know how many might attend. "An unforgettable memoir about a young girl who, kept out of school, leaves her survivalist family and goes on to earn a PhD from Cambridge University Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University. Only then would she wonder if she’d traveled too far, if there was still a way home.

Starting at 8:45 a.m., we read a book with the children, followed by making art and other creative activities (sometimes we even dance!). Programs last from 30 minutes to 45 minutes long and are free to the public. Be sure you plan to have an adult stay with your child for the program and wear clothes that are ok to get messy! (We supply smocks, but sometimes art gets everywhere:) The Coutts Create Space is directly to the North of the Museum down the breeze-way; just look for the red door.
