A field survey for a proposed bridge replacement over Walnut Creek on U.S. 54 in El Dorado is scheduled to begin around March 22.
The project location is about half a mile east of the north U.S. 54/U.S. 77 junction. The approximate length of the survey will be about 5,000 feet, and the survey will be based on the existing alignment.
The field survey – estimated to be completed by Oct. 1 -- will gather information needed for the detailed design of the proposed bridge replacement.
A member of the survey crew first will contact property owners and/or tenants for permission to enter private property. Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor.
Bill Fox, P.S., Survey Project Manager, Garber Surveying, will be in charge of this survey for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
