[ARCHIVED] Public Utilities Department recognized for identifying non-revenue water

The City of El Dorado Public Utilities Department was recently featured in a Water Online article about identifying non-revenue water through Trimble water technology.

“Beyond the treatment process of providing an exceptional quality drinking water our operators take great pride in being good stewards of our resources,” said Public Utilities Director Jason Patty. “An example of this is the transition to electromagnetic metering of our top 25 water users. Accurate metering of our water throughout the system allows us to monitor potential leaks, system pressure, and mitigate water loss. Better metering technology not only gives us useable data of our distribution system, it also captures potential revenue losses due to metering inaccuracies. The City is seeing an average increase in revenue of 15% at new installation sites, which is directly attributed to improved metering technology. I applaud the efforts of our water treatment operators as well as our water distribution crews for working together to see these improvements come to fruition. I also encourage the community to review the link below for additional information.”
