The You Drink. You Drive. You Lose campaign has just ended. During the previous 2 1/2 weeks, El Dorado Police Department conducted overtime saturation patrols to aggressively enforce Kansas impaired driving laws. During the campaign, officers made one impaired driving arrest and wrote one safety belt citation, nine speeding citations and 74 other citations and arrests. A total of 71 vehicle stops were made during the campaign.
According to El Dorado Police Chief Mike Holton, if you were stopped, you hopefully learned from your experience. This department will continue to vigorously enforce impaired driving as well as all Kansas traffic laws, not just during this enforcement campaign but all through the year. We enforce traffic laws because those laws help every single person that we share the road with.
Impaired driving is a choice that YOU make. Make the right choice.
Our agency reminds you to always wear your seat belt. It’s your best defense against impaired drivers. Every trip, every time.
