[ARCHIVED] Request for Proposals: Historic Revitalization Subgrant Program

El Dorado Main Street

El Dorado Main Street

Request for Proposals

Purpose: Historic Revitalization Subgrant Program (HRSP)

El Dorado Main Street has become aware of a grant opportunity offered by the Department of Interior through the National Park Service. The goal of the grant is to support the rehabilitation of historic properties of significance on a local level in order to rehabilitate, protect, and foster economic development of rural communities.

We are requesting proposals from property owners within the Downtown El Dorado Historic District interested in including qualifying rehabilitation projects into the grant. Properties must be designated as “Contributing” or being returned to “Contributing” status by the proposed rehabilitation project. Local grant awards for individual properties may range from $100,000 not to exceed $750,000 for the total local grant program which may include multiple qualifying projects.

The time frame is short. By Monday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. CST we request an expression of interest accompanied by a detailed project description and cost estimate.

Matching funds are not required but will be considered a competitive factor. Property owners must demonstrate how the project will be accomplished within 2 to 3 years time frame while meeting all federal and state guidelines for historic property rehabilitation. See addendum for more details.

A Main Street Historic District review committee will review all proposals and inform applicants of their status for inclusion in the HRSP Grant Proposal by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019.
